Wild Bill’s Wild Ride
Okay, so I went home. I’m clearly a monster.
So, it turns out that, despite the fact that the Powder Gang have held this town for freaken ages, most of the inhabitants of the Primm are very much still alive. One older chap explained that most of the Powder Gang invaders are living over in the Bison Steve Hotel, so the residents of Primm took the opportunity to barricade themselves over in the Vikki and Vance Casino.
Which is a good thing, because that means most the town can be saved. Although, it also means that rather than looting a ruined town I’ve technically been robbing hostages, which is less great. But as far as they know, it was the Powder Gang that nicked all their stuff, so that about pans out even.
Armed with this new information I immediately exited town and went straight to the NCR command tent to let them know that most of the town was still okay.
Turns out that the NCR knew already and still had no authorisation to go storming in.
I then had a hard choice… hole up with the residents in Primm while it got dark , sleeping in a building across the road from a small army of violent psychopaths; or go home to Goodsprings where there’s a warm meal and nice soft bed waiting for me.
Okay, so the choice wasn’t that hard.
Eventually I just can’t take it. I just have to take all their stuff help those poor people.
I pack my pockets with all the dynamite and grenades I can carry, and then Lily and I head back on down to ol’ Primm to sort those no good varmints out!
We smash through the foyer like the fist of an angry god. Well… I say we… But really Joe didn’t do much of anything. Lily however pounded the crap out of anything that crossed our path.
In fact she’s doing so well with the smacking and the thumping, Joe diverts his attention to the gift shop. The shouts and cries of fleeing gang members in the hallway is wonderful music to loot by.
Toys, drinks, books – it’s a veritable wonderland of other people’s things.
And it did sound like Lily was having fun out in the other room.
Or… wait. Is she?
Now I think about it, there isn’t the level of noise I’d expect coming from the hallway. In fact there’s no noise at all.
Sure enough, there’s no one in the hallway other than the corpses of the gang members that Lily had already put down. With some trepidation I head down the Hallway.
What I find is chaos. Lily had found her way into a dinning room that was packed with gang members. Including someone with a flamethrower.
This is a problem.
With gunfire and flames flooding the room I panic – I do the first thing that pops into my mind and hurl a grenade at the bloke with the flames. Success! It lands right at his feet!
Which would have been a good thing if Lily didn’t turn, bat that specific gang member away and then walk directly over it.
As the dust settles and the last body drops to the floor, the horrible truth becomes clear.
